Working with a well-respected and busy Houston orthopedic private practice as a liaison between the practice and patients. The Patient Care Coordinator provides a vital link between the patient and the doctors by managing the communication for patient financial responsibility and questions. We are seeking an experienced customer service professional with experience in the orthopedic surgery industry with an understanding of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Candidate must be reliable, organized, mature, energetic, and highly motivated. The candidate must be an experienced professional with outstanding interpersonal skills.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Engaging with patients to foster the practice-patient relationships
· Conducting phone calls, scheduling appointments, proper documentation, and collecting outstanding patient’s balances (surgeries or otherwise)
· Facilitating the financial transactions of surgical and office procedures (discussing costs and financial payment options)
· Optimizing the customer service experience of all our patients
· Provide patients with information about the doctor, services, and surgical and non-surgical procedures
· Monitors, reviews, and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports
· Communicates in an effective and professional manner with physicians, ancillary departments, surgery centers, office staff, insurance companies (as needed, not required), as well as patients and their families (all Patient Access customers)
· Communicates with law firms for personal injury patients (as they arise)
· Communicates with inter office and external vendors for office needs (as they arise)
· Other duties as assigned
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST:
· Have minimum of 2 years patient care coordinating experience
· Have a proven track record in medical customer service
· Be an efficient self-starter, articulate, a quick thinker, detailed-oriented, and confident
· Have the ability to multi-task and be a team player
· Have excellent customer service skills and a caring personality
· Have a strong ability and willingness to learn medical procedures, terminology, electronic medical records software
· Have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Candidate will have an upbeat personality, a desire to help, a keen intellect, meticulous attention to detail and a genuine love for people of all types.
· They will be patient and efficient to build rapport with patients and foster long-term relationships.

Schedule: This is an office based, full-time position. Work hours are generally expected to be 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
