NTL Laboratory provides state-of-the-art medical laboratory tests and related services in Midwest regions of the United States through our Central Laboratory and Processing Center. Our headquarters are based in Skokie, Illinois.
Molecular Lab Technician
Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Molecular Lab Technician to join our team. You will play a crucial role in our laboratory operations, primarily focusing on running RT-PCR assays with varying sample types. The Molecular Lab Technician will be responsible for the entire workflow, from sample intake to result reporting. This position requires precision, prior experience in PCR techniques and the ability to work some Saturdays.
-Performing RT-PCR Assays: - Execute RT-PCR assays with precision and accuracy, utilizing various sample types according to established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
-Sample intake and preparation: -Receive, process, and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper handling and documentation throughout the intake process.
-Workflow Management: -Manage the full workflow of molecular testing, including sample and reagent measurements.
-Pipetting: -Demonstrate proficiency in precise pipetting techniques to ensure accurate sample and reagent measurements.
-Quality Control: -Conduct quality control checks at each stage of the process to maintain the integrity and reliability of results, troubleshoot any issues that arise and escalate as necessary.
-Data Analysis and Interpretation: -Analyze and interpret PCR data, identify trends, anomalies, potential areas for improvement and communicate findings to the relevant stakeholders.
-Instrument Maintenance: -Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
-Documentation and Reporting: -Maintain detailed and accurate records of all experimental procedures, results, observations and generate comprehensive reports for internal review and external distribution.

Pay: $22.00 to $24.00/per hour
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field.
-Prior experience working in a molecular biology laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of PCR techniques and principles.
-Proficiency in pipetting and handling laboratory equipment with precision and accuracy.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with team members and communicate findings clearly and concisely.
-Flexibility to work some Saturdays and holidays as needed to meet project deadlines in a healthcare laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications
-Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
-Prior experience with RT-PCR assays and molecular diagnostic techniques.
-Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
-Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., CLIA, CAP, ISO)
-Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in molecular biology research and diagnostics.
-This position will primarily be based in a laboratory setting, with regular exposure to biological samples, chemicals and laboratory equipment.
-Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays is required to support laboratory operations and project timelines.
