At the Harvard Club of Boston, we're seeking a Membership Coordinator who embodies a passion for teamwork and a hunger for growth. You'll have the chance to work alongside a seasoned membership team, soaking up knowledge and experience as you contribute to our membership growth strategy.
As a Membership Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in supporting positive member relationships, assisting with retention efforts, and contributing to member journey programs. Supported by our Director of Member Relations and Director of Membership Development & Community Engagement, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the club's membership experience, expand our community, and assist in crafting compelling value propositions for both current and prospective members. Key Responsibilities:
1. Member Relations:
o Proactively engage with members to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations, ensuring a personalized and exceptional membership experience.
1. Be a resource and point of contact for inquiries, feedback, and concerns.
2. Respond to questions and feedback in a timely and gracious manner.
3. Answer phone calls and emails with a warm and friendly tone
o Assist with current membership retention programs such as the Ambassador program, new member onboarding, outreach to “at risk” members, etc.
o Assist in maintaining the club’s database (membership register) of members’ files as necessary.
o Coordinate a member benefits program.
2. Member Retention:
o Work collaboratively with team members to improve the value proposition for Club members.
o Coordinate programs that help to enhance member retention rates, including targeted communication initiatives, member feedback surveys, etc.
o Be willing to run reports to identify trends, opportunities, and potential target demographics for membership engagement and growth.
o Collaborate with relevant departments to address member concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues.
3. Membership Expansion and Value Proposition:
o Participate as needed with specific individual efforts, such as on-campus experiences, tours, member events, and partner programs designed to increase membership.
o Continuously evaluate and optimize member journey programs to enhance member satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty.
o Work closely with the Director of Membership Development & Community Engagement to help execute strategies for attracting new members and expanding the club's membership base.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree (a focus in business administration, communications and hospitality is a plus but not required)
· Experience working with customers in the hospitality, private club, or alumni relations space.
· Aspirations to thrive in an active and dynamic environment, while being a reliable team member who anticipates the needs of both members and colleagues proactively
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with members, staff, committee, and board members at all levels.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and email marketing platforms
· Knowledge of the alumni landscape and familiarity with Harvard University or similar prestigious institutions is a plus.
Benefits:
· Hybrid working: one day remote, four days in the office to start. After 3 months, two days remote, three days in office.
