Fleet and Equipment Manager/DOT Specialist
Inventory Supervisor
HCC is seeking someone to directly oversee its Fleet and Equipment. This position will be responsible for asset management, shop inventory management, maintenance oversite, daily dispatch and communication with drivers, DOT compliance and implementation, driver training and safety and training along with other duties required for this position.
Responsibilities
· Hire, train and ensure driver compliance for Company and DOT compliance
· Daily dispatch of drives
· Review and recommend changes to the maintenance of company owned commercial fleet
· Stay abreast of and ensure organization compliance of motor carrier safety regulations through monitoring various transactions, documentation and company third party assistance.
· Coordinate with HCC Safety Supervisor to ensure driver safety requirements/goals are met and implemented
· Investigate and prepare vehicle accident reports complying with company, state and federal guidelines
· Assist with budgeting and planning through attending meetings, reviewing reports and communicating departmental needs and goals to upper management
· Compile and complete data for IFTA quarterly reporting
· Coordinate maintenance requirements and needs
· Advise management on equipment needs and conditions to assist in new purchasing requirements
· Coordinate daily with Field supervisors for hauling needs
· Organize, schedule and manage required loads and driver delivery
· Implement new shop inventory system
· Tracking and updating shop inventory quantities
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Two or more years experience in the trucking transportation field
· Must have experience in managing a team of people
· Understand current DOT rules and regulations and stay up to date on proposed changes
· Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and equipment maintenance
· Proven strength of troubleshooting and conflict resolution techniques and procedures along with problem solving and decision making
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Self-motivated with the capacity to make sound decisions using information at hand
· Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments and attention to detail
· Experience in inventory management is highly desired
