The Camp Nurse/EMT will run the Camp Clinic in Camp Central. He or she will be a positive role model, flexible, and have a positive attitude throughout each day. This position is classified as a Part-Time, Seasonal, Non-Exempt and is not benefits eligible. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Protect the health and safety (emotional and physical) of all campers while at camp and on any trips
- Plan and carry out a program of health and safety
- Train staff in procedures, precautions and routines related to health and safety at camp
- Responsible for all necessary record keeping and reporting to camp director
- Administer all medications and treatments according to the physician’s order
• Keep records of all treatments • Responsible for training and preparing staff for trips and overnights
- Responsible for medical and first aid supplies in the clinic and on trips
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- R.N. degree and licensed to practice in the state of Texas or EMT License
- Experience with children
- Ability to cooperate with others
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates an energetic and positive attitude
- Be dependable and have excellent communication skills
- Professional in appearance, manner and tone
- Possess an attitude that makes for harmonious cooperation with campers, parents, and other staff
It is expected the Assistant Director will be a team player as part of the JCC Camp Staff. He/she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.
