Job Summary:
Under supervision, Machinist I will work to precise tolerances to manufacture Bellevilles. They will set-up and operate machinery, while being responsible for making sure their machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained, perform periodic checks on output; while operating machines in a manner that promotes safety and efficiency of producing Bellevilles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Follow all safety rules and guidelines including but not limited to PPE (safety glasses and hearing protection) and machine guarding.
· Prioritize all work-related activities for production efficiency.
· Feeding material into the machine
· Product inspection using specific measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and pin gauges to ensure the product meets customer’s specifications.
· Performs machine maintenance and safety checks daily.
· Mechanical aptitude and use of basic hand tools
· Adhere to quality control policies to enhance customer satisfaction.
· Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust as necessary.
· Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
· Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.
Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to use calipers, micrometer, and pin gauges.
· Ability to read blueprints or work tickets.
· Microsoft office such as Excel for data entry.
· Basic Math (i.e., addition, subtraction, and converting fractions into decimals).
· Lifting and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Standing, pushing, pulling, reaching may be required.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma/GED
· 1+ years of relevant work experience
· Ability to work to close tolerances.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Salary Range: $20.00 - $28.00/Hour based on experience.
