Drug Therapy Management
· In a timely fashion, reviews and verifies all medication orders to ensure safe, accurate, cost-effective drug use.
· Interpretation of Clinical & Pharmacokinetic Lab Data
· Demonstrates knowledge of basic pharmacokinetic principles.
· Drug Information
· Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.
· Communication and Service Requirements
· Understands role as an integral member of the health care team.
· Education/Scholarly Activities
· Performs patient counseling as requested by the healthcare team
· Regulatory Compliance
· Completes nursing unit inspections, overrides audits, clean and safe rounds, Pyxis sweeps, and other regulatory responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Drug Distribution Activities
· Oversees the drug distribution process, assuring accurate and timely dispensing of drugs to patients via pharmacy systems.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or Pharm.D. degree. Experience with Specialty/Oncology medications is highly desirable.
