Job Description
The Controls Design Engineer responsibilities include design of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls systems using Beckhoff PC’s to control servo motors and VFD's.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
The Controls Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering engineering results that include the following:
- Project management of the machine (on time, on budget) from inception to delivery while being involved and assisting with troubleshooting of issues.
- Design and detail the control schematics and BOM's
- Program the PLC and computers for a given machine project.
- Size and specify servo systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7-10 years related experience
- C# and C++ real time programming experience
- PLC and HMI programming experience (Beckhoff or Siemens preferred)
- Electrical panel layout experience
- 2D CAD experience – Wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of NFPA 79, CE Machinery Directive
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
