A thriving national property management company is seeking well-qualified applicants for an Accounting opportunity within its corporate office. This person will possess advanced knowledge of core accounting functions. A steadfast focus on superior service for the properties supported is paramount. Regular duties and responsibilities will include:
- Month-end closing responsibilities of an extensive portfolio of properties
- Preparing and analyzing budgets and financial statements
- Managing GL accounts
- Preparation of bank account reconciliations
- Serve as the primary contributor to the preparation of annual audit and tax files and work with external accounting providers
- Administer recurring tax payments and assist with the completion of state and/or local tax filings
- Provide general oversight of accounts receivable and accounts payables functions
- Review and research vendor contracts to ensure accuracy of charges.
- Oversees tasks related to acquisition of new client properties
- Administer construction draws for properties being developed
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related degree required
- 5+ years of general accounting experience
- Prior experience working in the real estate industry or public accounting is a plus.
- The ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all organizational levels
- Proven ability to plan, organize and implement multiple tasks/projects on a concurrent, real-time basis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, advanced Excel competency preferred
