Job Overview:
NSVH is a family owned, boutique-style small animal exclusive practice in beautiful Newtown Square, PA. We are never open weekends and there is never on-call! We have a zero tolerance policy for abusive/nasty clients, and fire clients regularly when needed.
We have two experienced technicians assigned to each doctor in appointments, as well as two experienced techs assigned to the surgery doc. We believe in trying to overstaff more than understaff.
All of our vets and all of our CVT's are Fear Free Elite Certified Practitioners. Every other staff member goes through the Fear Free training. We are also a Gold Status Certified Cat Friendly Practice through the AAFP. We offer 30 minute appointments for everything, allowing us plenty of time to work with anxious patients and educate clients.
We offer PTO, health care through Independence Blue Cross , 401K with 100% match (eligibility after 12 months of employment), all dues/licenses, paid uniforms, VIN membership, Plumb's Pro app, Fear Free certification, a generous annual CE allowance which can be rolled over to the next year if not used and a generous personal pet discount policy.
For toys, we have digital radiography, digital dental radiography, a handheld ultrasound, a full suite of Idexx in house lab equipment including a Sedivue, a Surgivet multiparameter anesthesia monitor plus an additional capnograph, a Doppler, and a SunVet portable blood pressure machine to do BP's in the exam rooms. We continue to add more technology as we grow. All of our radiographs are reviewed by a board-certified radiologist, and we have a boarded radiologist who visits the practice regularly to perform ultrasounds.
NSVH is paperless. We use cloud-based DaySmart Vet (formerly known as Vetter) for our practice management software. We have laptops in the exam rooms, and each doc has their own desk with a phone and computer. Our phone system allows for texting with clients, and we also do lots of emailing with clients as well, to minimize time spent on the phone.
Our clients are affluent and educated; they often accept referrals when recommended. NSVH is very client-focused, so any doc we hire must be excellent in communicating with and educating clients.
