Licensed Vocational Nurse - College Station
Job Summary: Under direct supervision of the Senior Nurse, the Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for the overall day to day care of all More Than Rehab's detox and residential clients. This position can require some evening, weekend and on-call hours. The position will perform the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
General
- Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
- Adhere to agency policy and procedures.
- Ensure the highest level of professionalism for self and staff and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Patient Care
- Prepare patients for examinations: height/weight, vitals, collect and process lab specimens, including UDS, UA, Chem Sticks, etc. following proper infection control procedures.
- Administer and monitor the effects of all client medications, according to medication protocols set forth by the medical director.
- Provide appropriate patient education as determined by patient assessments/needs and treatment plans.
- Complete clinical documentation and progress notes in a timely manner consistent with program guidelines.
- Complete and maintain proper clinical records according to Federal, State (HHS), and agency (JCAHO) guidelines.
- Work a flexible schedule based upon service demands and work overtime as needed.
- Provide support services for patient care issues to staff at other MTR facilities.
- Maintain the quality control logs.
Training
- Stay current on all trainings related to licensing
- Attend all mandatory trainings and attend multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings as identified by MTR policies.
COMPETENCIES
- Proficient at updating all licensing and certification documentation in a timely manner
- Understands and works well within a team environment
- Certified phlebotomist desired but not required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational School of Nursing is required.
- Current LVN License required.
- Basic Life Support Certificate required
- One year work experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in the treatment of substance use and behavioral health.
