Overleaf Lodge & Spa is looking for a Landscaper/ Groundkeeper to care for our properties. Will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and landscaping daily in order to achieve and provide a positive guest experience.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of tasks with attention to detail. Must be a self-starter and motivated. This person must be knowledgeable about natural and invasive plants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform skilled work in the care, upkeep, and maintenance of the grounds and landscapes, which includes the operation of electrically-powered and gasoline-powered equipment and machines, and the use of small hand and power tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, and trimming grounds and landscaping. This includes care for established lawns and grounds by mowing, weeding, removing ivy, trimming, and edging around walks, and walls.
Maintain the production of our flowers in our flower beds. Plant seeds and bulbs when needed, and assist in cutting and delivering flowers to The Overleaf Lodge and Fireside Motel as required. The production goals include providing flowers for key points in the hotel/motel, as well as flowers for use of arrangements for the guests.
Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Special attention is required on the key focal points of the grounds, such as the entrance, the areas around the signs, the visibility of the signs from 101, etc. Clear communication with The Director of Maintenance, and approval, will be required prior to changing any of the current landscaping designs.
Remove unsightly debris from the grounds during regular inspections of the parking lots, event center, drainage areas, driveway, etc. Transport the debris to the designated central collection points. Storm clean up is a priority after each storm, as is flood control. Safety for our guests is priority.
Insure that all groundskeeping equipment is taken care of, cleaned, and stored, in an organized and consistent fashion. Perform maintenance on equipment and tools, and makes minor repairs (within demonstrated capability) as directed by The Director of Maintenance. Any malfunctioning or undue wear on any of the equipment must be communicated to the Director of Maintenance in a timely fashion.
