Job Description:
The General Manager (Manufacturing) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the production process. Reporting directly to the executive team, the GM will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing operations and achieve company goals.
- Drive initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to align manufacturing strategies with broader business objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing team, including production supervisors, engineers, and support staff.
- Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation to meet production targets and customer demand.
- Monitor key performance metrics (e.g., OEE, downtime, scrap rates) and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality control and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Implement and uphold rigorous quality assurance processes and procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices in workplace safety.
- Implement measures to minimize occupational hazards and prevent accidents/incidents.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to employees to support their professional growth and development.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs, resolve issues, and drive customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and industry events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in manufacturing management or operations leadership roles, preferably in the custom fabrication industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices.
- Demonstrated track record of driving operational improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through change.
