Batson River Fish Camp located in Wells Maine is seeking a Sous Chef. Batson River Fish Camp is part of Batson River Brewing and Distilling.
Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. If you have a passion for cooking, strong leadership skills, and a background in the food industry, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee kitchen operations during service hours, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of meals
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and specials
- Assist with catering events as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality or food industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Proficient in kitchen management software and systems
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Bartending experience is a plus
