- Collects, analyzes, and records demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data from multiple sources, and obtains other information necessary for scheduling and registration.
- Interviews patients to accurately determine scheduling needs.
- Coordinates the scheduling of appointments for outpatient diagnostic testing and procedures for the hospital to best meet the patients and department’s needs.
- Utilizes computerized central scheduling system to provide customers with timely, courteous and proficient scheduling.
- Provides instruction to patients in preparation for visit or procedure, where appropriate.
- Cancels or reschedules appointments based on changes in provider availability.
- Verify insurance each time an appointment is made.
