About The Position
The Data and Systems Support Analyst at our Herndon, Virginia headquarters plays a pivotal role in the Systems Department, focusing on managing data solutions and hands-on implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware systems. As the backbone of our data operations, this position blends the worlds of data analysis and IT support to ensure accurate and reliable data for our teams. Each data source is unique and requires different skills, ranging from hand tools to python scripts to problem solve and tune. The ideal candidate is adept at working in varied environments, ensuring the reliable operation of our systems through diligent maintenance and effective problem-solving. This position demands a combination of technical abilities ranging from physical hardware setup, data analysis, and software troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis: 50%
- Setup and redefine data analysis settings for flight tracking data.
- Investigate specific data issues to properly identify aircraft operations at airports, providing guidance to internal team members based on findings.
Systems Maintenance and Installation: 25%
- Contribute to the setup and integration efforts for new clients, including physical equipment configuration/installation, and software/data configuration.
- Travel to airport client sites for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of remote sensor equipment.
- Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, such as installation guides, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting protocols.
Systems Department and Helpdesk Support: 25%
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting for deployed systems, using remote diagnostic tools and software to swiftly address and resolve issues.
- Work collaboratively on projects within the team and across the organization, providing technical insights and enhancing departmental processes and service quality.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).
- 1-3 years of experience in a technical support or help desk role, with proven expertise in hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and experience with various operating systems, primarily Windows and Linux.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with a knack for clearly conveying technical information to diverse audiences and collaborating effectively with team members.
- Willingness to travel for field assignments, including installations, maintenance, or troubleshooting tasks at client airport sites within the United States up to 15% of the time.
- Experience using both power and hand tools.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely handle, carry, and lift equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various settings including outdoor airfields, indoor technical workshops, and at a desk.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available)
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional weekends, to meet operational needs and project timelines.
- Available to work in our Herndon, VA office a minimum of 3 days a week. Option to work remotely up to 2 days a week.
