1. Coordinates the administration of municipal codes, ordinances, and regulations related to zoning, building, health, safety, and environmental protection.
2. Serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to code compliance and enforcement from residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.
3. Conducts research and analysis to interpret and apply municipal codes and ordinances accurately.
4. Coordinates with other municipal departments to ensure consistency in code enforcement activities.
5. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to code compliance and enforcement.
6. Maintains accurate records of code violations, enforcement actions, and compliance status.
7. Prepares reports and presentations on code compliance, enforcement and planning activities for management and regulatory agencies as required.
8. Provides support to code enforcement officers and inspectors in the field as needed.
9. Assists in the organization and conduct of public hearings.
10. Drafts, edits and distributes correspondence and reports.
11. Provides clerical, administrative and technical assistance on special projects within the department, as needed.
12. Facilitate the use of technology and various computer programs.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and codes relevant to municipal governance.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Requires two years of experience in code enforcement, regulatory compliance, planning or rated municipal administration.
Some college preferred.
Ability to pass a typing test at 30 WPM.
Preferred Certification in code enforcement, planning, or related field (e.g., International Code Council (ICC) Certification).
Preferred experience working in a municipal government setting.
Preferred knowledge of GIS software and mapping applications.
Preferred knowledge of best practices in code enforcement and compliance.
Must pass a credit and criminal background check have a valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
