Hephzibah Children's Association is a social service agency in Oak Park, IL with Family-based services (foster care, intact, parenting), a qualified residential treatment program for young children, and after school and summer day care.
The Clinical Advocate is responsible for providing therapeutic and supportive services to high-risk children and their foster families with the goal of facilitating and/or maintaining placement in a stable environment that optimizes the child’s mental health, growth, and development.
Requirements include:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
- Minimum of two years post-master’s experience.
- Must be LCSW, LPC, or LCPC licensed or eligible.
- Previous experience in a child welfare agency required; additional experience in a group home setting is preferred. ·
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work effectively with children, parents, staff, school personnel, oversight agencies and the public.
- Valid IL driver’s license and good driving record
- Must be able and willing to do home visits in the near and surrounding communities.
- Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences in the staff and client population.
