POSITION: Supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
REPORTS TO: Director
JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide applied behavior analysis services evaluation to students with an autism diagnosis AND provide direct supervision of Behavior Technicians. Prepare and maintain records and reports pertaining to student’s evaluation and treatment plans. Supervising masters level students when appropriate.
Essential Functions:
- Use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis & Verbal Behavior in treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental Disabilities
- Implement one-on-one treatment protocols for behaviors targeted for deceleration
- Implement one-on-one treatment procedures for language, social, or academic skills for acquisition
- Administer assessments including VB MAPP, Essentials for Living, ABLLS-R, Functional Assessments, and Functional Analysis’
- Implement data collection, review, and modify treatment
- Create behavior plans for each child on caseload as needed
- Create and modify Individualized Treatment Plans for each child on caseload as needed
- Create and modify progress reports to insurance as needed
- Instruct, motivate, and assist students to learn and improve functional activities
- Facilitate Natural Environment Training when appropriate
- Observe patients during treatment, compile and evaluate data on patient responses to treatments and progress
- Train and observe behavior technicians on ABA principals and procedures and child’s program
- Review technician’s documentation and data collection and provide feedback as needed
- Complete session and/or supervision notes at each session and submit accordingly
- Lead behavior technician staff meetings/trainings bi-weekly
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- Complete billing sheet accordingly to insurance codes authorized and submit in designated time frame
- Communicate through checking voicemail and email regularly
- Maintain ongoing communication with parent regarding child’s progress and plan of care
- Prepare and conduct Staff Performance Reviews with Administrative Director
- Provide supervision to BCaBA/BCBA candidates as outlined in the BCBA Supervision Contract
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Adhere to the rules, regulations, policies, and processes outlined in the Little Star policy and procedure manual
- Protect patient rights and privacy per HIPAA regulations, and Little Star policy and procedures manual
- Adhere to Ethical Guidelines set forth by the BACB
- Provide a safe and clean environment for all patients and staff
- Protect an individual from abuse, neglect and exploitation
- Ensure the patient receives quality services from provider
- Represent the patient to ensure services and interventions meet quality assurance standards
- Respect the dignity of an individual
- Maintain accurate records including but not limited to assessments, current daily notes, and services provided for statistical and billing purposes
- Enforce the Code of Ethics governed by BACB and Little Star policies and procedures manual
- Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency within the clinic
- Portray a positive attitude and maintain a patient and co-worker satisfaction level that limits adverse situations or complaints
- Generate team spirit through creating and maintaining an environment that fosters staff satisfaction, and maximizes productivity
- Attend special education programs and in-service trainings, related to ABA therapy for staff and the community upon request
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or other related field
- Experience working with special needs children (ASD and/or DD) for at least 2 years
- Certified with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BCBA)
- Must maintain credentialing in compliance with the BACB
- Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Must complete Continuing Education courses as outlined by the BACB
- Must complete / have completed supervision courses as outlined by the BACB
- Obtain and/or possess and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and re-certification every 2 years
- Maintain a clear criminal record
- Successfully manage behavior technicians
