Position Overview: This position moves freight, stock or products to and from storage, loading dock, delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, forklifts or other equipment. Pick or sort product prior to loading or unloading, and preparing/staging products on pallets or carts. Label product with identifying information (ie: code date, receipt date, customer name). Someone who is a team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a solid work ethic.
Basic Requirements
· High School Diploma / GED equivalent
· Ability to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and/or holidays, this is a night shift position so start times may start at 1:00 pm and may work through the night as required to finish the loads for next day deliveries
· Must have basic math skills
· Must have the ability to frequently push/pull (Force #) up to 50 pounds.
· Must have the ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds from floor to waist and 60 pounds occasionally, lift up to 30 pounds shoulder to overhead frequently and 60 pounds occasionally, frequently carry up to 30 pounds, carry bilateral (25-50 ft) 60 pounds occasionally, carry unilateral 30 pounds occasionally.
· Must have the ability to frequently stand/walk, climb/balance, bend, squat, stoop, reach overhead, and reach forward, twist, side bend. Frequently to constantly grasp, handle and fingering. Occasionally kneel.
· Must have the ability to frequently walk on surfaces and inclines that may be wet or icy
· Ability to work regularly in a cold environment (-20F)
· Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted yet still aware of one’s surroundings
· Must pass post-offer drug and physical evaluation tests
· Ability to work safely
· Must possess strong interpersonal skills
· Must be detail-oriented
Work Activities
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, reaching and handling of materials.
- Identify information on freight documents
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical active to operate machinery
- Maneuvering, navigating or driving mechanized equipment, such as forklifts.
- Receive, sort, move, slot, pick, mark, and load products
· Maintain awareness of product knowledge information
· Ensure maximum product quality through proper handling
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
· Complete paperwork accurately and legibly
· Adhere to Federal , state, local and company safety policies
