Kobelco Compressors America, Inc. (KCA) is a leading manufacturer of process gas compressors. We offer three (3) types of compressors: screw, reciprocating and centrifugal.
Kobelco compressors can comply with heavy-duty process gas service requirements (API Standards). With expertise in all compressor technologies, KCA can recommend and engineer the optimal process gas compressor for our client’s specific application.
Position Summary:
The Senior After Service Engineer supports clients with technical solutions, evaluations and troubleshooting. This position is responsible for independently judging and assessing conditions to provide technical expertise support which will lead to increased reliability of KCA supplied system. This position has substantial discretion, autonomy and independence in the execution of his/her duties, decisions and/or responsibilities.
Essential Position Functions and Duties:
- Support clients for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of KCA compressor system.
- Conduct an analysis of client equipment trending for preventative maintenance, or troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support for compressor overhaul activities. Generate reports for equipment inspection, repairs, and troubleshooting (RCA).
- Generate cost estimations for compressor work activity for review and approval.
- Develop procedure and processes for After Service. Identify areas of improvement for current procedure and processes.
- Travel domestic and internationally to provide training and technical guidance.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5-8 years minimum experience in Rotating Equipment, plant maintenance, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
- Prior experience and knowledge of installation for all types of static and rotary equipment (pumps, compressors, etc).
- Strong knowledge of site execution work for planning & scheduling of system maintenance.
- Efficient computer skills for generation of technical reports for rotating equipment to include: inspections, repair procedures and reports, root cause analysis (RCA) reports, operation and maintenance manuals, processes and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a team player.
- Dependable, responsible and professional.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- This job operates in a professional office environment and production/manufacturing environment requiring occasional domestic and international travel.
- This job occasionally moves around in manufacturing, power plant and chemical refinery environments; moving around in outdoor conditions that may include, but not limited to inclement weather, noise, dust, smoke, heat, hot and cold temperatures. Noise level may exceed 85 decibels on occasion in the main shop.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.
- Must be able to frequently move around inside office to access file cabinets, printers, etc.
- Must be able to accurately detect, identify, communicate and discuss.
- Frequently positions and/or moves light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 25 pounds.
- Routinely operates office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,560.00 - $95,000.00 per year
