Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Completes thorough physical assessment and health history on patients admission to Emergi-Care.
- Takes and records vital signs as ordered and/or as patient condition warrants
- Takes prompt/appropriate action in response to changes in patient status and sets priorities of care.
- Reports patient status accurately to physician
- Carries out physicians orders promptly
- Performs restocking, autoclaving, daily narcotic count and crash cart check
- Uses creative problem solving
- Evaluates patient care outcomes and verbally reports problems when appropriate
- Documents changes in patient status
- Accurately records treatment
- Assists with orientation of new personnel
- Identifies educational needs of nursing staff and makes recommendations of appropriate programs.
- Maintains annual CPR certification
Physical Requirements and Work Habits
- Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting, standing and/or walking
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height
- Ability to run in emergent situations
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- Maintains neat, legible and organized written records
- Maintains a neat and organized work area and keeps work supplies stocked
- Works effectively with others in a way that is productive
- Willing and able to learn new procedures and accept new assignments
- Able to perform several tasks simultaneously during peak workload situations
- Able to prioritize and reorganize workload in response to STAT requests
- Attends all staff meetings as required
- Maintains an awareness of changes in Emergi-Care policies and procedures
- Follows all written and verbal instructions of supervisors and physician
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, coworkers, and health care providers.
- Reports for work in appropriate attire
- Complies with all Emergi-Care policies and procedures
- Maintains safety and cleanliness in nursing area
Qualifications:
- Diploma, Nursing certificate, A.D. or B.S. Degree in Nursing
- Current licensure by Alabama State Board of Nursing
- CPR certification required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
