This is an opportunity to engage in impactful fieldwork by planning and carrying out diverse habitat management activities on wetlands throughout the Columbia Basin.
Envision yourself supporting day-to-day operations on various wetlands including water level manipulations, mechanical and chemical vegetation treatments, and monitoring to evaluate outcomes of treatments.

Supporting the wildlife area’s work in enhancing and protecting fish and wildlife habitat in the Columbia Basin.
This is an opportunity,
To monitor habitat conditions to include vegetation and noxious weeds within and adjacent to wetlands.
With your experience in hand and power tools,
Be involved in a variety of trades including carpentry, fencing, electrical mechanics, and small engine repair.
We are seeking a candidate,

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four (4) years of experience working with natural resources or outdoor recreation.

This may include experience such as a Natural Resource Worker, Natural Resource Technician, Scientific Technician, and Fish and Wildlife Biologist.
Please Note: College coursework in a related natural resource specialty area such as wildlife, conservation, range, agriculture, forestry, or out-door recreation or a closely allied field will substitute, year for year, for experience.
Experience:
-
Operating and performing routine maintenance on chainsaws, quads, motorcycles, small excavators, and other light equipment, as well as hand and power tools common to maintenance and repairs.

Using Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

Ability to obtain WSDA public operator’s license within six (6) months of employment. (Provided by WDFW).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

Working knowledge of vegetation management techniques and strategies specific to wetlands and riparian areas.

Experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
-
Critical thinking and the ability to make decisions based on the best available information.

Experience with general farming practices.

Experience with fence repair and construction.
-
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
-
WSDA public operator’s license and experience with the use of herbicides.
