Basic computer knowledge and accurate data collection & entry are required. Experience and/or education in another area of health care, data entry, office skills, sales or service industry would be an asset for this applicant.
Optometric Assistants are allied health professionals who assist optometrists in providing their highest level of vision care to patients and extend the optometrist's capabilities by assuming routine and technical aspects of vision care services. Technical duties may include but are not limited to front office procedures, billing and coding of insurance claims, patient scheduling, patient testing, patient education, contact lens procedures, dispensing of eyewear. The para-optometric provides a key role in the optometric practice and will receive training in basic eye anatomy, terminology, disorders of the eye, clinical procedures, contact lenses, optics and ophthalmic dispensing and office procedures.
Full-time candidates will be considered. Up to two nights until 7:00 pm evening and some Saturdays 9am-2pm will be required.
