Babson Diagnostics is searching for a part-time Collection Site Specialist to oversee the company’s retail patient service center in Austin, TX. The role reports to the Collection Site Manager. This is an hourly position which will include business and evening hours, weekdays, and weekends, and includes on-call and holiday coverage. The full compensation package includes complete medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage as well as paid time off.
The Collection Site Specialist is responsible for:
- Welcoming customers and other visitors to the facility.
- Performing blood collection services for customers (no phlebotomy training necessary).
- Maintaining a safe and clean physical facility for customers.
- Providing customer support and documentation for Babson’s customers by phone, email, and chat.
- Providing clinical support for clinicians who use Babson’s blood testing service.
- Answering the company’s reception desk and main phone line for visitors and general inquiries.
- Potential travel needed for training at retail pharmacies on an as needed basis.
Candidates for the role must have the following qualifications:
- Professional experience in a role providing direct customer service is required.
- Professional experience in a healthcare environment or training in a medical field is required.
- Professional experience managing day-to-day operations of a customer-facing facility.
- Passion for improving healthcare, including the advancement of blood testing technology.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of blood sample collection processes and laboratory test results is a plus.
- Professional experience working in a retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills over time.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and creativity compatible with a rapidly changing startup environment.
- Physically, the day-to-day functions of the role require:
- Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- A normal range of vision and hearing (inclusive of candidates using corrective measures such as glasses or hearing aids).
- Occasional repetitive motions.
- Collection of blood samples.
