Staff Accountant
Position Summary:
Kemp West was founded in 1982 and provides comprehensive vegetation management services to utility and municipal customers across Washington. We have a small Administrative Staff which supports both Management and 65 Field Staff. This position will be responsible for Accounting duties, from Accounts Payable to Monthly Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations. All of our business is job specific and we use an ERP computer system called "Spectrum" which is a Dexter and Chaney product, to manage these jobs. The Staff Accountant will assist in job management as well as some Human Resource and Payroll support.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
· Manage A/P - Code, enter and pay vendor invoices.
· Maintain Fixed Asset registers and prepare monthly depreciation entries.
· Prepare supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
· Prepare monthly journal entries as part of the close process.
· Assist in preparing customer invoices and revenue adjusting entries as needed.
· Reconcile company credit cards, enter transactions, and pay timely.
· Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.
· Support external audit and tax requirements, providing schedules, account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
· Assist in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
· Assist with Quarter & Year-end close process : City B&O Taxes and Payroll taxes.
. Prepare supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
· Provide backup to weekly payroll process.
· Support the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including job setup and change orders.
· Prepare specialized reports and accounting data analysis as requested.
· Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting experience of 2+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
Knowledge of US GAAP standards
Experience using ERP computer software i.e. Sage, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook
Very organized with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong communication skills, ability to interact professionally with all levels of the company
Professional and courteous
Ability to work Independently and be productive
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
