GP&C’s Production Lead supports all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost (SQDC) of an assigned portion of a production Value Stream(s). Value Stream (VS) is defined from receipt of materials through the shipment of good to the customer. The Production Lead will lead, coach, and influence all direct employees affiliated with their section or portion of the VS. This position will interact with other Production Leaders, Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Production Managers, Engineers, Scheduler/Planners, and Quality personnel in carrying out duties and responsibilities.

Ensures operational goals are met in the areas of Safety, Quality Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
Support and lead continuous improvements in the areas of SQDC.
Observe, support, & contribute to GP&C safety programs, policies & initiatives. Implement and continually monitor safe work practices in their assigned area of the Value Stream. Conduct required safety & environmental audits, 5S audits, JHA assessments, identify and correct hazards, and assure that all other employees follow safe work practices.
Working Production Lead with some time delegated to administrative duties.
Track daily / weekly production, give updates daily and identify problems.
Ensure the flow of subcomponents through the cell " bottle necks"
Write NCRs and work with Engineers to clear parts from NCR as needed.
Provide work direction to workers assigned to the work cell, coordinate vacation and lunch/break coverage, obtain overtime coverage as approved
Troubleshoot and assist in solving production problems utilizing root cause analysis tools as appropriate.
Coordinate and provide training to technicians in assigned portion of VS. Ensure all technicians in their assigned portion of the VS are trained to the current revision of the Work Instructions (WI) and are following the WI at all times. Ensure layered process audits are taking place on a regular basis.
Responsible for housekeeping and organization (5S) for assigned section of the VS.
Responsible for ensuring raw materials, tooling, WIs & general supplies needed are present at each work station and surplus materials are properly stored.
Ensure proper completion of production and traceability documentation.
Must have or quickly learn how to set-up and operate key equipment in work cell. Help in establishing, implementing, and sustaining TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
Operate and troubleshoot process monitoring / data acquisition equipment/program/software
Understand and utilize various MAX transactions such as but not limited to: labor in, labor out, issuing materials, closing materials to stock, view current stock in warehouse etc…
Troubleshoot and assist in solving inventory issues; min/ max materials, variance reports, batch & lot discrepancies.
Provide input in annual technician review process
