Position Summary
The Sales Director is responsible for directing the sales and development of the company's products and services within a designated region. This position will develop and implement sales strategies and forecast sales volumes for all accounts within their assigned region.
This role Is responsible for planning and implementing sales strategies, both short- and long-range, targeted toward existing and new customers/markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
- Developing and managing sales/marketing operating budgets
- Developing and recommending product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
- Directing sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals accordingly
- Directing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
- Meeting with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating supply agreements.
- Preparing periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Reviewing and analyzing sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
- Managing and directing staff including recruitment, selection, and development to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
- Maintaining communications with internal personnel to ensure efforts are in line with objectives.
- Calling on prospective customers, providing technical and administrative product information and/or demonstrations, and quoting appropriate customer prices
- Maintaining all sales demonstration tools and applications
- Supporting CRM utilization through required input and data management to ensure new opportunities are supported and growth goals are achieved.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field (preferred)
- 5 to 10 years of proven sales experience (required)
- 5 to 10 years of proven sales management experience (required)
- Knowledge of various recruiting and/or relationship sales techniques
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
- Flexible, creative, and able to work in a non-structured developing work environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to think outside the box, communicate and motivate account managers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral/written communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills.
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Demonstrated skill with in-depth sales and financial principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-management, and internal and external customers
- Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems
