Your contributions will ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintain positive tenant relations, and uphold financial accuracy. The position is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, during Monday thru Friday typical business hours. Responsibilities: The Accounting AP/AR Specialist will work directly with the Property Controller to perform daily accounting tasks for Leavitt Capital Companies including:
1. Manage rent receipt deposits and processes by monitoring payments and following up on overdue accounts in coordination with the company controller.
2. Process accounts payable, including reviewing and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payments in coordination with the company controller.
3. Coordinate Monthly Bank Reconciliation for multiple client accounts.
4. Accurately and efficiently enter data into the Yardi software system, ensuring completeness and integrity of information.
5. Work with property operations and leasing, to gather and input relevant data into Yardi for proper accounting documentation and reporting purposes.
6. Assist Property Controller with other accounting related projects.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous bookkeeping/accounting work experience is mandatory.
- Computer skills on MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc).
- An understanding of Yardi Systems is preferred, but if you have no knowledge of Yardi a willingness to learn a complicated accounting database is required.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong desire to accurately perform accounting related tasks.
- Inquisitive and eager to take on new responsibilities proactively.
- Possess excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks efficiently with frequent interruptions.
- Enjoy working in a lively and busy team environment.
