Position: Research Analyst/Senior Research Analyst
Summary of Position:
Resources for the Future (RFF) is seeking one or more Research Analysts to join its Research and Policy Engagement team, starting in the summer of 2024.
Research Analysts are essential members of the RFF Research and Policy Engagement team. They are responsible for providing technical support that, under the direction of senior RFF team members, allows for the production of compelling and impactful research that aligns with RFF’s mission of improving environmental, energy and natural resource decisions through impartial economic research and policy engagement.

Please note that this position may be filled at the Research Analyst or Senior Research Analyst level, depending on qualifications. The Research Analyst salary range is $54,500 - $61,250, and the Senior Research Analyst salary range is $59,750 - $67,500.
This a hybrid position that requires 3 days in the office per week and is not eligible for 100% remote work. RFF is located in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities are project-specific and include

Support discrete elements of research projects, including identifying, reviewing and synthesizing academic and policy literature, managing and analyzing datasets, or other tasks that are assigned by the project PI.

Write internal memos and collaborating on external written products.

Support and/or conduct quantitative and conceptual modeling.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or natural sciences.

The Senior Analyst position requires either a bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant post-graduation work experience, or a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Desirable Skills

Experience in assembling, managing, manipulating, and analyzing datasets

Knowledge of economics, quantitative methods, and statistics

Interest in policy assessments that relate to climate change, the environment and natural resources

Experience with computational, statistical and/or GIS software programming, such as Stata, R, Matlab, ArcGIS, or Python
