Retail Sales Associate
Job Description Summary
The Retail Sales Associate is genuinely friendly and customer service-oriented. This role works cooperatively with our Outside Sales team and other distribution team members to help grow our existing customer base, create new customers, and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while focusing on customer satisfaction.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Greet and assist retail store customers
· Restock showroom shelves
· Maintain organization and tidiness of sales area and product displays
· Foster new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information promptly
· Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions confidently
· Comfortably recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications
· Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, exchanges, or returns
· Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items
· Aid customers with accuracy in sizing
· Proactively recommend items needed by the customer to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
· Increase sales and average order size utilizing cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and promotional sale items.
· Educate customers about product terminology, features, and benefits to improve product-related sales and customer satisfaction.
· Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely product delivery, expediting when needed.
· Manage time, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other team members.
· Adhere to company policies and procedures
· Consistently present a professional image to customers and vendors
Required Qualifications
· Superior customer service

· Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities
· Able to multi-task
· Able to perform business math (basic algebra, calculate rates, ratios, percentages, etc.)

· Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures
· Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse distribution software
· Must possess a high school diploma
Preferred Qualifications
· Candidates with prior experience selling tactical equipment, fire equipment, or firearms
· Candidates with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position
· Military veterans are encouraged to apply for this position.
· One (1) year minimum military, fire, or police experience in a volunteer or paid capacity
