All operators are responsible to ensure highest product quality and products manufactured per MPI or Instructions for SMT.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure to be logged in on Voyager Labor Tracker during work hours or while clocked in.
- Sign in ESD log twice a day (beginning of work and after lunch break)
- Review Production Schedule or Instructions from Lead or Supervisor
- Review MPI, and Job Traveler for contents and completeness.
- Sign off MPI on the page that specifies your job. Check work instruction page daily for updates. If updates (example: ECO, Deviation, or Shortage Report.) Initial and date to indicate you have been made aware of changes.
- Ensure all tooling are available prior to start a job. When there are discrepancies, do not start a job without any authorization from Engineer / Supervisor.
- Ensure all materials are clear prior to start a job. When there are discrepancies, do not start a job without any written authorization from Lead / Supervisor.
- Ensure that serial # equals to work order or in MPI.
- Scan on Data Collection system if specified , or if data system is down Sign off and date the Job Traveler for each area that specified as “Required”
- Assist process(es) that are bottleneck per Lead / Supervisor/Engineer/Manager direction
- At the end of the shift, make sure the working areas are clean.
- Escalate all issues to Lead / Supervisor.
- Attend training and implement all procedures pertaining to Production, such as ESD, Housekeeping, First Article, Maintenance, Safety, Test and Inspection Procedures, MSD Handling procedure, etc.
- Complete all required training.
- Ensure all PCBAs are washed at the end of day
- Make suggestions on process and quality improvement to Lead / Supervisor / Engineer / Management
- Review Data Collection system with Supervisor on your Defect Yield.
- Verify SMT Set-up sheet is sign off by Set-up Operators and QC.
- Verify all MTC’s are checked.
- Verify that serial labels are complete.
- Review all data scans and work daily. Once you scan that is verification that you have read MPI and understand content.
- Verify Pick’n place program is valid to what SMT line is needed. Compare to voyager customer assembly requirements.
- Verify Pick’n place program against MPI is sign off by QC.
- Ensure all MSD components are stored in vacuum sealed bag or baked prior to start a job
- Verify components and feeders location against Pick’n place program
- Always use solder sample to verify machine setup.
- Implement and help update Solder Paste handling procedure, Daily Machine Maintenance, First Article procedure.
- Ensure that solder log is update if getting solder.
- Always verify printing quality prior to sending boards to pick’n place machine. First two board needs to be verified by Process Tech and Quality Engineer. Reflow for BTU same process.
- BTU profile is only to be on the machine. (IMPORTANT TO CLOSE ANY OTHER PROFILE)
- Any parts that are done on the feeder and need change over to new parts. You must re-verify with QC to ensure correct polarity / size / and measurement. If it is needed to change polarity. You must check the following two boards and ensure that QC agrees.
- Always verify component polarity, alignment prior to sending boards to the oven. Ensure that parts on Tube / Trays are correct Polarity.
- If qty of work order is less than 5. Process Tech or Quality Engineer must sign off on all boards.
- Always check Juki machines for drop parts when in process or stops. Any drop parts in drop tray. Ensure that parts are identified and pass own to Lead / Supervisor and next shift.
- Ensure no missing materials (ICs) during assembly process.
- Always escalate material shortages to Lead. To ensure minimal down time and efficiency in SMT line.
- Escalate all Hazard material waste to Lead and Supervisor.
- After kit has completed. Teardown machines and verify with Set-up team that all material was return with correct bags, boxes, trays , and tubes qty’s included. Do not throw away bags / tubes / trays after teardown. Ensure that all sealed IC’s are put away correctly. If material is missing spend 5-10mins looking in machines. Fill out MT if not found have Supervisor sign.
- Partial kits once completed. All material must be torn down from MTC and Machine. Do not leave IC’s in the Machine and teardown later. Ensure to work with Set-up Lead to find all lost parts.
- No phones are to be on while working. If emergency walk away from what your doing and let Lead know asap.
- Swing or Day shift Pass down must be given to Supervisor to coordinate between shifts.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an electronic manufacturing/production role.
- Experience or any related training with Juki SMT Systems is preferred or similar systems.
Skills:
- Must be able to read and write English and follow instructions.
- Able to work independently.
- Proven track record for high quality product delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
