Job Description
AOS is looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our team in making a positive impact on our community through exceptional craftsmanship and dedication. The Concrete Finisher is responsible for supporting their designated field crew and Foreman through setup, maintenance, and breakdown of jobsites, preparation and maintenance of crew tools, supplies, truck and machinery, as well as taking ownership for and promoting crew and individual jobsite safe behaviors and AOS core values. The Concrete Finisher is directly responsible for designing and building concrete forms with construction machines or hand-mixing tools, demolition of existing surfaces, pouring, and finishing concrete, amongst various other types of construction including, but not limited to, masonry work, asphalt paving, and traffic control. Key responsibilities include the safe execution of projects while exceeding expectations for quality, productivity and customer satisfaction. Position Details
- The main office is located at 1224 Two Notch Rd, Lexington, SC 29073 **Depending on job needs and availability, you may be required to work out of town several weeks throughout the year. Transportation, housing and meals are provided**
- Starting pay with NO experience is $17.00/hour - Currently seeking candidates with minimum 1-2 years experience
- Merit-based raises in first 3 months

Essential Duties
- Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold conditions year-round 10+ hours per day
- Ability to repetitively kneel, bend and lift up to 50 pounds utilizing safe lifting techniques
- AOS is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time Positions only
- M-F: 7am - 5pm (Flexible)
- 40+ hour weeks

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates and promotes safe behaviors, wears required PPE at all times and follows the AOS Position Safety Guidelines provided and reviewed at orientation and throughout training
- Seeks to ensure tool safety for both self and others while producing a quality finish on hardscaping projects
- Performs the demolition of existing surfaces, forming and finishing steps of hardscape projects
- Sets up and prepares area for the workday – including the crew truck and the jobsite
- Supports end of day activities and prepares the work area in an organized manner in preparation for the next workday, or the next crew – including jobsite and AOS materials yard
- Demonstrates personal accountability for individual and team safe behaviors, quality of work, collaboration and productivity
- Arrives on time and notifies foreman in advance of personal time off
- Supports daily equipment and truck checks for their crew through direct ownership of necessary tasks or provides assistance as needed
- Must be professional, courteous, and represents AOS in a way that is consistent with our Core Values. (training/review provided during onboarding)
Concrete Technician Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates strong knowledge on concrete tool identification and use-cases for standard hardscaping
- Seeks and accepts feedback on performance and contributes to a communicative environment
- Demonstrates a strong problem-solving “How can we” attitude and a willingness to learn team and company processes
- Demonstrates consistent effort
- Ability to work self-directed
Education, Training and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid state issued Driver's License
- Resume and/or 1 letter of recommendation preferred
- Fluency in English; Spanish a plus
- Certifications in construction (ex: OSHA 10, Flagger) a plus
- First Aid/CPR certification a plus
- Heavy Equipment Operation experience a plus (Ex: Skid steer, excavator)
