Growing Civil Construction Company in Baton Rouge, specializing in Clearing & Grubbing, Excavation & Embankment, Sub-Surface Drainage, Soil Stabilization, and Concrete Paving. We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Field Surveyor “in-training” to be responsible for civil construction site calibrations, construction layout, machine control setups and topographic surveys.
Job Description:
Provides professional surveying services to the company to ensure construction work complies with design drawings and specifications. Establishes and assists in the implementation of company standards and best practices for all survey-related activities, e.g., job set-up calculations, data management, quality control practices, and survey equipment selection.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Perform Construction layout work competently and accurately for the installation of materials by field staff.
· Required knowledge of Trimble and Leica Products.
· Ability to create 3D Modeling for survey and machine controls.
· Skilled in establishing control networks vertically and horizontally utilizing robotic total stations and localizing projects accurately utilizing GPS.
· Capable of creating takeoff models for estimating.
· Troubleshooting machine control issues.
· Must be able to perform basic calculations.
· Experience with string-less paving and curb is a plus.
· Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems.
· Skilled in using and caring for surveying instruments and equipment.
· Working knowledge of survey technologies including data collectors, total stations, robotic total stations, and GPS-based survey systems.
· Must have a valid Louisiana Driver's license.
· May be required to work some weekends on an as-needed basis.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is frequently required to work outdoors for extended amounts of time. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. “The employee should be able to bench a minimum of 225 pounds and deadlift a minimum of 415 pounds.”
