Musser Public Library is seeking an energetic library assistant to work in the area of youth services with a special emphasis on programming. The work includes the opportunity to be creative in programming for everyone from our youngest patrons to our adult patrons. We're looking for candidates whohave a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), an ability to be creative, and a desire to help improve literacy and sense of community. This is a full time position with minimum starting pay of $24.89/hour and great benefits including IPERS, health and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Experience working in a library, good computer skills, and excellent customer service skills are highly desired. Experience in providing literacy education, and ability to visit schools and other local venues and establish effective relationships with teachers and other agencies is needed to be successful in this role.
Work time will be sent approximately as follows:Tween & Teen Programming - 35%,Youth Services Desk - 30%,Programming Preparation & Support - 20%,Adult Programming - 15%
