Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach is seeking Medical Assistants to provide clinical office support and administrative assistance to physicians and non-physician providers in our Jupiter and West Palm Beach locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare patient for office visit or telemedicine appointment. Obtain vital signs and EKG when appropriate. Document all pertinent information in electronic medical record (medications, allergies, patient history, etc.). Complete medication refill requests and other tasks in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with physician, patients, and staff. Follow physician’s instructions regarding patient care; relay information to patients and/or family members. Inform physician of emergencies and critical issues.
- Send and receive medical records, obtain reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. via fax and electronic exchange. Complete forms and requisitions. Scan and manage patient records to ensure information is complete and categorized appropriately.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary to protect against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, and other hazardous substances. Maintain HIPPA compliance.
- May schedule surgeries, procedures or outpatient testing, working in conjunction with Surgical Coordinator when needed.
- May register and schedule patients, update patient demographic and insurance information, verify eligibility, and request authorization and referrals to appropriate coordinators as needed.
- Maintain, adjust and confirm schedules when necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
