We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager to join our team. This person will work closely with the General Manager and Executive Chef to execute and supervise daily operations and manage staff and product. Strong leadership abilities are fundamental to this role in order to train, motivate, and inspire a team in alignment with company culture.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in restaurant management with excellent communication and relationship building skills. They are passionate about hospitality and tasked with upholding our established standards of service, cleanliness and safety; in addition to ensuring spectacular dining experiences for all guests.
As an integral member of our team, this person is a skilled leader willing to assist their peers at all levels. Working closely with other management, the manager’s primary responsibility is developing a positive impression of La Semilla and its offerings and supporting the restaurant’s goals and operational objectives.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years proven management experience in a full-service restaurant or in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, inventory control, and food production
- Proficient in using Toast POS system or similar restaurant management software
- Experience using restaurant reservation systems
- Ability to walk and stand for duration of service
- Flexibility and availability to work weeknights and weekends
- Experience in bartending or mixology is a plus
- Culinary background or knowledge is preferred
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the team
General Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the restaurant with established systems
- Coordinating daily front- and back-of-house restaurant operations
- Supervising daily shift operations and team of employees
- Maintaining safety and food quality standards
- Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and communicating needs with management
- Timekeeping and tracking of employees’ hours
- Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy and training staff to follow restaurant procedures
- Building a loyal clientele by creating a fun and energetic environment with good vibes, positive attitude, and guest name/face recognition
- Work closely with staff to ensure guests have an excellent dining experience
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns
- Stay committed to having a dining room presence when guests are in the restaurant
- Engage with guests to make sure they are satisfied and get feedback on product quality and service levels
- Ensuring all end of day cash outs and shift reviews are correctly completed
- Appraising staff performance and submitting daily shift notes
- 100% familiarity with all food and beverage menu items
- Expediting food and garnishing plates as needed, ensuring that all food and products are consistently prepared/served according to portioning, prep, and serving standards
- Communicating between the FOH and BOH on special requests, allergy information and 86’ed menu items
- Have a full understanding and ability to work in all front-of-house roles and assisting team with all ongoing duties throughout service
- Have a thorough understanding of and be able to implement the Do’s & Don’ts of the Dining Room and our Steps of Service
- Understand and actively assist in implementing our Principles of Spectacular Service
