Requirements:
- NBRC Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Therapist License issued by the State of Alabama
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
About the Job:
- Under the direction of Physicians and and Respiratory Director, perform all respiratory procedures in accordance with NBRC, State Regulations, and departmental policies.
- Is responsible for the administration of all Respiratory Care modalities on all age groups of patients from neonate through geriatric.
- Collaborates with other professionals in and out of the Hospital to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.
- Provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Manages mechanical ventilation and artificial airways in critical and general care areas.
- Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases as well as administers aerosolized medications and other respiratory treatments.
- Initiates, monitors and manages patient’s oxygen through various devices including high flow nasal cannula and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
- Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.

Graduation from a CoARC accredited education program for respiratory therapy. Professional training and knowledge of basic principles, procedures and practices to assess and provide care of patients. Passing score on Respiratory Therapy CRT/RRT Exam.
- At least 6 months experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.
