Eucalyptus, LLC is an outsourced accounting firm that specializes in providing bookkeeping, tax, and financial consulting for businesses from $500k-$15 million in revenue. We work very closely with our clients to make sure they have all of the financial and accounting information they need to be successful.
So what do we do for our clients? We become their accounting and finance department, giving them the best of both worlds: the responsiveness and experience of a dedicated, steady team, and the expertise and continued guidance of a group that has been building accounting departments for 25 years.
What about culture? Well, ours emphasizes growth, both personally and professionally. Our clients are always challenging us with new opportunities to help them, so we need to constantly learn and evolve in order to serve them. What we do for our clients has real world ramifications for real world people, and we take that responsibility seriously. We also take work/life balance seriously and are comitted to a four day work week, with our offices closed on Fridays.
Here's the specifics on the position:
This position will be focused on managing the daily bookkeeping and month-end close of 10-20 entities using tools like QuickBooks Online, bill.com, GSuite, and Slack. Your goal will be to keep your clients' books accurate throughout the month, not just at month end. The right candidate can plan to spend 2-4 years in this role, with the next step being division controller, treasury manager, or client service. Specific tasks include:
1. Reconciling bank accounts in QuickBooks Online
2. Setting up vendors and entering bills into bill.com
3. Preparing month end workpapers using Excel/Adobe/Word
4. Managing prepaid schedules, revenue waterfalls, depreciation schedules, and notes payable/receivable amortization schedules
5. Reporting on budget variances
6. Supporting clients by answering bookkeeping questions, following up on needed information, and providing deliverables weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually
7. Identifying efficiencies in current processes and implementing them
8. Working closely with other team members, including tax preparers, customer service reps, treasury managers, and CFO's
Now that you know what we do, here’s what we’re looking for:
You should be a natural born problem solver. The thought of taking on a new challenge should excite you, not frighten you. You must possess excellent communication skills, and not just with clients but with coworkers. You must not be afraid to admit when you need help, because you will definitely need help at times.
As for prerequisites, having a CPA license is a plus but not a requirement. Having prior experience in management accounting is ideal, either 5+ years in industry or 3+ years in a public firm. Customer service skills are mandatory, as is the willingness to learn and grow. Having a good sense of humor and an ability to connect with other accounting types is the biggest plus, and an absolute requirement.
We realize that the only way to continue to grow is to hire the best people and give them the tools they need to do the best job possible. We are not a traditional accounting firm, and we aren’t necessarily looking for a traditional candidate. If you like what you see, please forward your resume and cover letter. Please, no direct emails or phone calls, these responses won't be considered. Thanks, and have a great day!
