Job Overview:
We're looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and caring Summer Day Camp Counselor in our Summer Day Camp programs. If you have open availability this Summer and would like to work between 20-40 hours per week and have weekends off, this is the perfect job for you.
Summer Day Camp Counselors lead various activities that aim to give children a well-rounded experience. Activities include physical play, teamwork, building positive relationships, and much more! You will provide enriching, safe, and memorable experiences to thousands of campers. You will help campers gain a sense of achievement, build friendships, and find their sense of belonging. You will supervise a group of campers at one of our theme camps in an elementary school in Austin and the surrounding area.
Availability: You can work Monday through Friday, shifts between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:30 pm.
What You’ll Do:
- At our theme camps you will build a positive relationship with each camper; actively engage with campers at all times to foster the positive development of each child and the group
- You adhere to policies and procedures in a proactive manner, making the safety and care of children your primary focus.
- You actively facilitate and supervise campers during any field trips
- You actively participate in all aspects of staff development, including team meetings, and pre-service training.
- Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Pay: $13.70 - $15.00 per hour
