Who We Want
We seek a dynamic human resources and diversity professional who will work with the Senior Leadership Team. The right person can provide leadership and guidance throughout the organization but is also willing and able to do day-to-day HR tasks. The HR team of three (the CHRO, the HR Generalist and Talent Acquisition Specialist) is responsible for all HR-related activities (approx. 300 people).
What You’ll Do
Leadership: The Human Resources Director provides the leadership and vision for the development and support of our team.
- Serve on the Senior Leadership Team as an essential voice
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the HR Generalist to ensure the HR department is a strong business partner to the entire organization
- Prepare monthly updates for the Board of Directors
- Provide support to the organization’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council.
- Strengthen workplace policies with the revision of the Employee Handbook.
- Directly supervise the HR Generalist and work collaboratively to ensure all HR processes are effective and efficient. (Benefits, Total Compensation, Employee Relations, Employee Recognition, and other related HR functions.)
- Directly supervise the Talent Acquisition Specialist and work closely with department leaders to strengthen processes around recruitment and hiring
- Lead the use of the applicant tracking system across the organization
- Continuously monitoring recruitment efforts. Continuously seeking other avenues and creative ways to reach more candidates
- Continue strengthening the onboarding process with dynamic resources and solid processes for strong department-specific onboarding.
- Lead and oversee performance management practices across the organization.
- Ensure managers have the tools and training for continuous coaching around goals and areas for development
- Partner with department leaders to build our learning paths to ensure all staff have the functional skills to succeed in their roles
- Employee Relations: Providing day-to-day Human Resources support to employees’ questions and requests as specifically as they related to benefits and payroll and holding weekly HR office hours
What You Will Bring

- Experience serving on a senior leadership team in a mission-centered and results-driven nonprofit program.
- Exceptional communicator.
- History of inspiring teams to achieve results and experience presenting to regional boards, major donors, and other external stakeholders.
- Experience in driving transformational equity, diversity, and inclusion in organizations.
- A minimum of 3 years leading the full talent spectrum, performance management and benefits
- Highly skilled in building trusting, collaborative relationships. Excel in interpersonal communications, inclusive leadership, and managing difficult conversations.
- Strong understanding of applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Superior project management, priority setting, verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various data analytics reports.
- Experience in strategic planning and/or operating plan creation
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field. SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
