3rd shift Injection Molding Process Technician 11:00pm to 7:30am

Summary/Objective:
Sets and adjusts machine controls according to established process standards. Ensures efficiency levels and cycle times are sustained throughout the production run. May adjust and document any changes as needed to ensure product conformity & quality standards are upheld.
Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the setup and maintenance of the production of injection molding machines, tooling, and processes as needed.
2. Enhances the technical development of the processes.
3. Assists in preventative maintenance and or repair of machines, injection molding screw assemblies, molds, and other auxiliary equipment.
4. Collaborates with engineering to enhance and debug processes, tooling, and new products.
5. Assists in mold verification, mold changes, and job set-ups.
6. Drives process improvements including set-up time reduction, scrap reduction, and increased throughputs.
7. Regularly performs process troubleshooting on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
8. Verifies operations on the production floor are compliant with production schedule demands.
9. Reviews set-up sheet & process parameters to ensure quality standards are upheld.
10. May diagnose and correct problems during setup and throughout the production run.
11. Consistently monitors performance of molds, machinery & auxiliary equipment.
12. Authorizes full production once setup is complete and first piece approvals are validated.
13. Executes process control checks to ensure the molding method is compliant to standards.
14. Prepares Equipment Repair work orders and drives initiatives to improve mold performance.
15. Assumes the responsibilities of the Shift Lead/Manager in their absence.
16. May assist with material handling and mold setting when necessary.
17. Not responsible for removing stuck parts from the molds unless approved by Production Manager and or Process Engineer. The toolroom is primarily responsible for removing stuck parts to ensure mold is not damaged.
18. Runs machine to accepted process. If the mold is run outside of process, the Shift Lead/Manager must sign off the change and written notification given to the process engineers to validate the change. All parts must be put on QA hold until engineering approves the change.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and experience required for the role.
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within the plastics industry.
- 3+ years processing experience in injection molding.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible, innovative in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
