Job Summary:
Diab Americas, an AS9100 certified facility, located in Desoto, Texas (15 minutes from downtown Dallas) is seeking an experienced Composite Parts Finisher to join our team. The Composite Parts Finisher position includes work to prepare composite component parts by performing surface preparation tasks prior to application of paint or primer; filling, fairing, cleaning, masking.
Academic / Educational Training Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification.
Required Skills / Experience:
· 2+ years’ experience painting-prep-finishing in aviation, automotive, or marine or relevant vocational training.
· Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
· Must know and understand proper measuring ratios, mixing procedures, and application of putty and body working compounds.
· Ability to use small hand and power tools including, but not limited to, drills, saws, router, sander, grinder, scissors, lamination rollers, hammer, chisel, box cutter, allen wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, box end and ratchet wrenches.
· Ability to use measuring tools including, but not limited to, scales, volumetric mixing containers, calipers, calculators.
· Ability to identify and correct common bodywork issues on painted part surfaces.
· Ability to perform fiberglass and bodywork repairs/rework with supervision as needed.
· General math skills.
· Ability to wear respirator / pass pulmonary certification.
· Ability to read drawings a plus.
· Ability to use a computer and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel) a plus.
· Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
· Ability to work overtime and weekends as required to meet business needs.
· Ability to read, comprehend and perform to Quality System Documentation
· Ability to work both independently and with others.
· Ability to understand and comply with company policies/procedure and Health & Safety requirements.
· Ability to maintain good housekeeping practices and standards.
· Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to stand for duration of shift.
