Description:
Our engineering and design firm is looking for a Licensed Architect with 5-7 years of experience to manage our contract design and review processes. The candidate will be responsible for creating, evaluating and manipulating designs to meet the needs of our clients. We focus on energy designs, athletic facilities (stadiums, synthetic and natural turf fields and tracks), along with support structures and facilities for school districts, colleges, municipalities and private clients, including the engineering preparations. Additional certifications, such as LEED are assets we value for sustainable design options. Additionally, the candidate should be open to contributing designs to other architects and related design professionals after review of architectural plans. Responsibilities for the position include:
Ø Meet with clients and project team members and prepare detailed design documentation and solutions by adhering to all industry and AIA design standards
Ø Utilize support personnel to best meet their skill sets and experience levels to assist in design
Ø Maximize the ideas of sustainable designs and grant opportunities as per the client goals
Ø Adjust contracts, designs and change orders to meet any project changes as needed
Ø Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
Ø Strictly adhere to our approach of “Plan the Work, then Work the Plan”, while meeting budgetary objectives and goals that are aligned with the pre-construction, design, construction and close-out phases of the project.
Ø Use computer software (such as AutoCAD, BIM and Revit) to develop and enhance efficiency and accuracy that provide quality assurance of all architecture tasks and project development oversite.
Ø Utilize and continually develop leadership and certification credentials on the latest technical innovations to remain current in all project related and management responsibilities to meet our Mission Statement, Core Values and Professional Engineering Standards and Ethics
Required qualifications for the position included:
Ø Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Landscape Architecture and work to complete A.I.A or A.S.L.A requirements
Ø Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Ø Ability to analyze and calculate required architectural design practices to improve individual and overall office efficiency, collaboration, teamwork, communication for project success
Ø Possess advanced time management and analytical skills to meet architectural requirements
Ø Strong ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various design challenges
Ø Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced and high standards environment
Ø Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, punctual and a strong work ethic
Ø Possess strong people skills which contributes to a strong and positive culture and environment
Ø Superior organizational skill and dedication to completing projects and tasks in a timely manner
Ø Excellent client-facing communication skills that best represent the “face” of the company
Ø Willingness to travel within a 100 mile/2-hour radius as needed on occasion
Minimum 5- 7 years professional experience
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Professional Engineer or Registered Architect License
- Experience as an onsite resident project representative or construction superintendent
- Specific experience with the design and construction of school renovations with construction values in excess of $10 million
- Construction Document Technologist (CDT) certification
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- Experience starting up and commissioning building systems
- Involvement in a local, regional or national professional society

Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
