Fleetwood is looking for a Shipper/Packer to work in our KD (Knock Down) department on day shift! This full-time position works from 6:00am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday with overtime possible on Friday's during our busy season in the summer.

General Purpose:
The Shipper/Packer’s main responsibility will be cleaning, inspection, and packing of the components in our KD (Knock Down) department.
Essential Functions:
- Verifies that products match customer order quantities and descriptions and makes written and computerized records of packaging and shipping information.
- Utilizes carpentry skills with hand tools and power tools to fabricate cartons, skids, crates, and other custom packaging.
- Wraps, protects, bands, seals, glues, nails, and labels products as needed for damage-free shipment.
- Weighs, stacks, and arranges items being staged for shipment.
- Coordinates with Assembly, KD Pack, Material Handling, PIC and the Sales/Customer Service departments as needed to meet production and shipping schedules.
- Drives a forklift to move materials in and out of workstation.
- Performs all job duties in accordance with safe work practices.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Packing experience desirable but not required
- Self-motivated and able to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing
- Able to follow established procedures
- Open to change and different ideas; always looking for opportunities to improve
- Ability to run a panel saw on occasion
- Must be able to use a table saw and nail guns
- Perform other duties as requested
Licenses or Certifications Required:
- One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency
- Must be able to drive a forklift and/or be willing to obtain a forklift license
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use required measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, tape measure, etc.
- Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams as needed.
- Demonstrate willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as business needs require.
- Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.55 - $19.11 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
