Innovation and Media Specialist is a dynamic, energetic educator with exemplary teaching skills, out-of-the-box ideas, technology savvy, and the ability to instill creativity and critical thinking in all learners. The program supports and strengthens the curriculum, bridges the digital divide, and puts state standards into action. The Innovation and Media Specialist encourages reading for learning, reading for pleasure, and reading for life.
Innovation and Media Specialist will create and facilitate innovative instructional approaches and activities for classroom teachers to integrate technology into their weekly lessons through modeling and collaborative teaching.
Innovation and Media Specialist will utilize the newly remodeled Media Center and Collaborative Learning Lab to inspire and develop critical and curious learners through student-led activities, inquiry-based instruction, maker space projects, and creative problem solving pulling from children’s literature, classroom curriculums, and the world around them.
Innovation and Media Specialist will instill the importance and value of digital citizenship and awareness through interactive and real-world examples producing responsible and thoughtful 21st-century learners.
Innovation and Media Specialist will utilize the school’s iPads and Macbooks to inspire students to become content creators instead of consumers with digital storytelling, movie making, and multi-media projects.
Innovation and Media Specialist will maintain and promote the school’s library collection, the love of reading, and the exciting developments in children’s literature through activities, weekly discussions, book previews, and more to spark students’ curiosity and excitement for all things books!
Requirements:
Master of Education degree in Library Media with Instructional Technology Certification
