Assists the Director in developing departmental operations, policies, and procedures; risk management; staff
training and development; the maintenance of records and files; provides support for project logistics such as
planning, construction coordination, facility preparation, etc. as needed; assists with the annual budget proposal;
monitoring and approving expenditures within established guidelines; assists with grant proposals; and prepares
reports and other related data.
Coordinates, implements, and documents departmental trainings in a variety of areas, including but not limited
to, personal protective equipment, 15 passenger van courses, hazardous communications, occupancy emergency
plans. Serves as the Department’s representative on the County Safety Committee, as well as the Department’s
Internal Safety Committee.
Receives and responds to inquiries, complaints, compliments and other comments from public concerning parks
and recreation programs and activities; meets with organizations to resolve issues, develop partnerships, and
promote recreation for the County.
Seek and prepare for departmental grants and alternative funding sources.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
Assumes the duties of the Parks and Recreation Director in his/her absence.
Assists other department staff/divisions in various events, programs, and related activities.
Maintains and schedules use of vehicles issued to department for program use.
