Seeking full-time secretary/legal assistant for small boutique established domestic and succession law firm in Metairie. Background in family law/estates preferable. Will be responsible for assisting paralegal and supporting attorneys by performing a variety of administrative duties. M-F with short and casual Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phones
- Greeting clients
- Communicating with attorneys, clients and court personnel
- Inputting data into billing software (Timeslips)
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
- Maintain and organize legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible
- Format and edit documents such as court filings, pleadings, estate planning documents, etc.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including photocopying, scanning, filing, and other office tasks as needed
- Self-driven with an interest in learning

- Pleasant telephone manner
Experience: * At least 2 years legal experience preferred
Qualifications and Skills Required: * Strong knowledge of and ability to apply office software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and Timeslips
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively in a business environment
- Dependability and cooperation with attorneys, clients and other support staff
- Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading, transcription and general clerical skills
Salary depends on experience.
