Job Description:
Seeking an experienced and dedicated Kitchen Manager / Lead Line Cook to oversee our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service. A culinary degree is preferred, but not required. This position requires full availability and a willingness to undergo a cooking test as part of the employment process.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations during all service periods.
2. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
3. Develop and maintain standardized recipes, portion sizes, and plating techniques.
4. Manage inventory levels and ordering to minimize waste and ensure timely delivery of ingredients.
5. Conduct regular stock checks and monitor food costs to optimize profitability.
6. Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, sanitation practices, and safety procedures.
7. Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including HACCP protocols.
8. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery to guests.
9. Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and special requests in a professional and courteous manner.
10. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management team to develop seasonal menus and daily specials.
11. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance and sanitation.
12. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and record-keeping as needed.
13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and excellence.
14. Serve as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and culinary expertise.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with proven leadership abilities.
2. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
3. Full availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
4. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
7. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
8. Must be willing to undergo a cooking test as part of the employment process.
