Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Purchasing Specialist to join our team. As a Purchaser, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Your expertise in negotiation and contract management will be essential in maintaining efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices and procedures.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and category management techniques
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis and make informed decisions
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
Responsibilities:
- Implement procurement strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine material and service requirements including program directors to identify and secure tour and trip operators for school trips and events.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stock-outs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review consultant and subcontractor terms and agreements align with funding program objectives.
- Secure and maintain digital and hard copies of executed agreements, certificates of insurance and form W-9 on payees.
- Organizes the supply room.
- Conducts semi-annual physical inventory of school assets at both locations.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
